Manga: my japanese comic book collection is a database showcasing my personal collection of manga. It is also an exercise that allowed me to practice my PHP/MySQL coding skills, as well as creating a database.
I first came to know about manga when I was in high school. I stumbled upon it while browsing through the bookstore and promptly fell in love with the delicate characters and sweet art style. There are a variety of different genres, much like how there are many different types of books, and I had fun reading mangas from different genres.
The first manga I purchased was Prince of Tennis. I remember looking through the shelves at the bookstore and spying the cover of what looked to be an interesting read. I picked it up and flipped through the pages and discovered that it was a manga about sports. I'm not a big fan of sports, but the way the story was told was interesting enough for me to forget about my dislike. So I bought it, and since then, I've been constantly adding new mangas to my collection.
